Best Price/Performace and Best Performance Water Cooling Items

Thread Starter
The following will be all about what water cooling items are best performance and best price/performance. This is more geared toward people that are new to water cooling.

CPU WATER BLOCKS
There are many different CPU water blocks. You just have to chose the one that fits you needs depending on different things. Here are some common ones. One thing that this could depend on would be your budget. Some people may have a budget that they have to work with and some people have no budget at all. Another thing would be how the block performs. I don't know who wouldn't want a block to perform. Some people chose their blocks by looks too. Those are three of the most common reasons why people chose different blocks.

The best price/performance CPU water block.
For you people out there with budget loops in your minds the best block for you would be the XSPC Rasa CPU block. This block is the best price/performance block.

The best performing CPU water blocks.
The Aquacomputer Kyros XT, the Koolance CPU-370 and the EK Supreme HF are all great performing CPU blocks.

GPU WATER BLOCKS
Now onto water blocks for GPUs. There are many different GPU water blocks.

The best price/performance GPU water block.
Again the XSPC GPU blocks are the best for you people with budgets.

The best performance GPU water block.
The EK Full Cover blocks for video cards are your best choice.
Sometimes the Koolance and AquagraFX Fullcover blocks are better on some Nvidia cards.

RADIATORS
Choosing a radiator depends on many thing also. I will list a few reasons why you chose what radiator. One reason would be depending on what fans you want to use; high speed or low speed (or how much air they push.) You also chose a radiator depending on how much you plan on cooling with it. You need at least 120mm of radiator for each block.

The best budget radiator.
The XSPC RS series and Swiftech MPR QP radiators are good rads for budgets.

The best performance radiators.
If you are wanting a system that is quiet then the HWLabs SR-1 series of radiator is great for you. They are great with lower speed fans such as Gentle Typhoon's. From 900RPM to around 1850RPM.
Another radiator that is good for low speed fans is the XSPC RX series radiator. This is great with the Gentle Typhoon's also. 1850RPM.
(The SR-1 will do better than the RX at VERY low speeds.)
Thermochill radiators are another good radiator.

FANS

The cheap budget fans.
You can get fans such as Yate Loons if you are a budget person. They are not the best fans, but they work.

Better fans.
Panaflow, Delta fans are better....
If you want quiet then the Gentle Typhoons are the way to go.

FITTINGS
There are different fittings out there. There are barbs and there are compression fittings. It just depends on how much you would want to pay. Many companies make fittings: Enzotech, EK, Bitspower, Koolance, etc...

Budget fittings.
Budget fittings would be barbs. Barbs are much cheaper than compression fittings. There are lot and lots of companies that make fittings. Just what you like. I use nothing but Bitspower fittings. I like them, but it just depends on what you like best.

Enthusiast fittings.
Enthusiast fittings would the compression fittings. Compression fitting are not cheap, but look much nicer. Again there are many companies that make the compression fittings. It just depends on what you prefer. I use Bitspower compression fittings too.

NOTE: When buying fittings make sure that the tubing size you get matches the size of the fitting!! Also, if you are using 1/2"ID tubing and barbs you can use a 7/16" barb for a tighter fit. WHEN USING BARBS USE CLAMPS!!!

TUBING
Tubing comes in many different sizes. You can get any size. It just depends on what you like. There are many companies that make tubing. Tygon tubing is considered the best, but there are other companies out there like Primochill, Masterkleer, etc...

RESERVOIRS
There are different types of reservoirs that you can get. You can get a reservoir that you mount in a 5.25" bay, I think you can get one that you can mount in a 3.5" drive bay, you can get a cylindrical reservoir. It depends on you needs and looks.

Budget reservoir.
A budget reservoir would be a Swiftech MCRES Micro Reservoir.
I guess I will put the XSPC X2O 750 reservoir/pump here. This is a reservoir/pump combo for those of you with budgets. It is a dual 5.25"drive bay reservoir. Goes for about $50-$60.

Non-Budget reservoirs.
Koolance makes a dual 5.25" drive bay reservoir that you can mount 1 or 2 DDC pumps in.
XSPC has a dual 5.25" drive bay reservoir where you can mount 1 DDC pump.
XSPC has another reservoir similar to the last one, but instead of mounting 1 DDC pump you can mount 2. It is a two chamber reservoir. 1 for each pump.
Swiftech makes a reservoir that mounts right on top of their MCP35X pump.
EK makes many different sizes of cylinder type reservoirs.
Bitspower make very nice drive bay reservoirs. I have one myself.
There are more reservoirs, but it all depends on which one you like better...

PUMPS
There are lots of different types of pumps. Some perform better than others.

Pumps.
The Swiftech MCP655 and MCP355 are great pumps.
The Swiftech MCP35X is also a great pump. Ehiem pumps are very expensive, but nice.
Danger Den sells rebranded Jingway pumps.

You can buy tops for pumps. The top maximizes the efficiency/performance of the pump.

I think that is it.

Nice post, but the full cover EK GPU blocks aren't the best (atleast with the 480) as shown in the skinnee review.

AquagraFX for the full cover GPU blocks, at least for nvidia cards.

No mention of Swiftech MCR QP radiators for the price/performance category?
