If you just sneak through the whole game in stealth mode then of course you will find it boring. The new game addresses that issue and guarantees lots of action. The only way to do that is to place heavy scripts on the environment and force you into a certain path. You can't have it both ways(in a FPS). For the record I enjoy both games for different reasons.
I don't know what PC gamers you've been talking to. But every one of my personal Steam friends that has played the original loved it. I also know that a good majority of OCN loved the game play as well as the graphics.

What strikes me as interesting, is that some people just can't grasp WHY we're upset about Crysis 2. It's not about the graphics, its about the lies.

Like me. Played the game at medium graphics @ 14FPS on my old rig. All the way through. Just because I liked it. PS: The GPU was the same. The CPU was an old athlon that couldn't handle the thing

I played through the entire game and Warhead on a 939 rig with an 8800GT. I loved it that much. And now that I have the rig that I have....its that much better with mods now, and maxed out.

I don't know what PC gamers YOU'VE been talking to, most the ones I spoke to at the time of Crysis 1's prime said they hated it, that the game lacked any kind of depth and that it's just killing three nicely detailed korean faces repeatedly throughout. Rose-tinted specs do some serious damage, Crysis 1, while I enjoyed it and finished it, twice, is by no means nor stretch of the imagination a perfect game. And I won't even embarass you with its multiplayer component.

That being said now it's cool to love crysis 1 and hate crysis 2 so a lot of people are taking this sort of hipster approach (God I liked crysis BEFORE they whored out to commercialism and consolised themselves, gosh corporate pigs). Crysis 2 is a well *designed* game, it doesn't have the raw envelope pushing power Crysis 1 had, but I'd sacrifice a million tree renders for aesthetic styling and smoother shooting.

Crysis Wars was awesome if you put the time in to learn it. People have loved Crysis since it came out and it's insane(and borderline trolling) to claim they only started because Crysis 2 is not what a lot of people wanted.

Smoother shooting? I take it you're playing with the 360 controller? Even with the "advanced options" programs(which is pathetic) and disabling the mouse smoothing and stuff it's still pretty clunky with the mouse and keyboard for most. Although apparently if you disagree with people that like the game you're just a whiner, so let's just ignore that negative stuff.

I know when people don't like something I like I cut myself as well.

Thread Starter
I have a legitimate question. If Crysis 2 pushed the boundaries of hardware just like the first game, who would buy it? I wouldn't, I have a medium end laptop and I would not have the horsepower to play it. My friends at uni wouldn't, they are PC gamers but don't have enough to invest in a high end computer. A lot of people with full time jobs wouldn't either, they have bills to pay or other obligations that would prevent them from upgrading. If they released this super game then ironically they would lose a significant portion of PC players that cannot afford to upgrade their rig. Remember when the original came out and virtually no one could play it?

Now some of you might say that in 2-3 years when the rest of us upgrade we can play it and enjoy the graphics, but I know that I don't want to wait that long to play Crysis 2. I want to play it now. And I don't want to play on the lowest resolution missing out on all of the great beauty. It would also hurt their PC sales a lot more as less people would buy it during launch week or even within the first few months. The multiplayer would not even take off. At least with the new game all PC gamers get to enjoy good graphics at a reasonable frame rate. That is showing PC gamers love. Not making us shell out more money to update our rigs.

From a business perspective and a gamers perspective, they made the right decision.

Lol at people and "Crysis 2 didnt push my system hard enough* zzzzzzzz

Crysis 2 is using 99% of my gpu's, Crysis 1 was a piece of crap game that didnt care about multi gpu's at all... thats why it was making ur system look like crap, not because its THAT demanding, /sigh

If you don't like the game, don't buy it.... its perfectly fine for the time being, honestly, if you want graphics + shooter, wait for Battlefield 3
