Unable to burn discs 7 64bit Pro

So heres the deal. I have been unsuccessful in trying to get my sig rig to read a burnable disc (CD-R, DVD-R, and DVD+R DL)
I am using a Blu-ray Asus drive as my primary and then I have my nice little external DVD-RW drive. When I put a blank disc in my internal drive, it spins up then windows shows no disc in drive.
When I put one in my external DVD drive I hear the windows sound almost like it is trying to install divers or I am plugging in a new device. The drive letter is gone and wont come back until I take the disc out.
Now I have confirmed that the external is working (burned a disc using my laptop no more then 30 mins ago) I used to be able to burn using my internal I just have no idea why this has changed.

drivers? check your device make sure you didnt accidently uninstall the cd drive.

If you're able to read other discs just fine, then the problem is one of three things:

1) Bad drive; or,
2) bad drivers; or,
3) both.

So checked online, found no other drivers for my internal drive. ASUS had a firmware update but I had done it already a couple months ago. This has to be some setting within windows. Unless someone can point to a non-windows driver.

Have you tried reinstalling your motherboard drivers? Try checking with that as sometimes it helps to get some new ones offline and reinstall them. Perhaps try another brand of media? Sometimes media will cause this issue. I been happy with verbatium as they always done the best for me.

Well I change software pretty often, and I don't burn discs that often (about once every 3-6 months) and I reformat my drives more often lol. So if it was a software issue then who knows.
