Just so everyone knows btw, this boss of mine, he knows what he is doing. He's a smart guy, and right now, he does all of the on-site stuff. And moreover, to use this story as an example. Me and the other tech guy had trouble getting a copy of Norton Ghost, which runs on DOS, to dual-boot with Windows 7. The boss guy had it going within 5 minutes.

Moreover, he has owned this business since '84. And did work before that too repairing typewriters. So I know he knows what he is doing.

Lastly, glad everyone here is giving me the relatively same answer. Keep going and things will work out. I just hope it does work out. Trying my best.

The IT world can be hell at times, that's for sure.
I'll be stepping into your shoes in 2 years or less after I'm finished with my college course.
My neighbor just started his job doing server repair and networking for a private company and he also had the same exact situations as you.
It will be stressing at first, it will be crazy, you will get yelled at, a lot.

Just hang in there!
I'll probably be making one of these posts in 2 years as well.

Welcome to IT tech hell, where people expect to abuse their machines, and for you to fix it in seconds. Too many users are actually actively ignorant, they refuse to learn. I met far too many of those when I was where you are now.
Stress levels in many areas of IT support is sky high, it's a known problem with abusive users, ignorant management that expect the impossible for pennies. This is why I'm pretty happy I got out of this whole rat race. Accept that people will be demanding, stupid and rude. Find coping strategies for this fact, and move on with your life.

Man, this guys sounds like an old boss of mine, Jim. Smart as hell, but could be abrasive hell because he liked to asked you questions you couldn't get out of. Sometime I thought he enjoyed trapping you in your own shortcomings. Was definitely an acquired taste, but once you got to know him, he was great to work for.

Bosses are VERY important factors (you can lump it in with the company) when determining the stress and satisfaction you have at your job. One thing i stick by is if my company takes care of me, I will do my best in return to take care of the company. It is hard to find a situation like this though.

Just learn AS MUCH as you can. Knowledge is the ultimate power. It can determine your pay, where you work, and your responsibilities. EDIT: Even though this is not always true. It can be who you know and how good of a talker you are.

If you know your stuff then the only other part is politics at work. In your case customer service skills as well.

Grio, strangest thing. My boss's name is Jim. And the description you use is almost too the teeth correct. Kinda frightened actually.

Thanks for everyone welcoming me to IT hell. Now going to go talk to Satan and see if I can get into good terms with him. No seriously, probably gonna hate my life for the next 3+ years.

Will keep everyone's advise at heart. Probably gonna bookmark this thread in case I get one of these days again.

Almost every day will be like that in one way or another. It's the ones that are better that you should celebrate, it's those that keep you going.
All you need is a customer that actually appreciates your work that can make the difference between a terrible day and a great one, sometimes just a "Thank you." said the right way can bring some joy to you.

Good good. Celebrate good days is something I do frequently. This morning seems pretty good so far. Got a simple malware removal machine so far. Hopefully today is busier too, so I can get some good labor hours in too. We shall see.
