Final build and final question before buying parts for wc

As I am a bit afflicted with paranoia when it come to my computer , I would require one last round of question to quell my insecurity.

Question

1 - if you use over 12 feet of tubing (7/16) should I use the Swiftech MCP655 or the Swiftech MCP365 ?

2 - Does the 7/16'' tubing require a clamp when used with 1/2'' barbs ?

3 - For cooling would distilled water + pt nuke + silver killcoil be overkill ?

4- Should i use a shroud for my fan mounted on my radiator

Well that's all i would need for information , now if you would please look over my design , and plan for future expansion

waterblock gpu: Danger Den 4870x2
Radiator : rspc rx 360 , yate loon medium or scythe gentle typhoon 1850rpm
Reservoir : Danger Den rad-reservoir
Pump : Swiftech mcp655 or swiftech mcp 355
Tubing : PrimoChill PrimoFlex PRO LRT Tubing 7/16"ID
Barb : bitspower 1/2'' barbs
QDC : Koolance QDC (High Flow) No-Spill Shutoff Nozzle, Male Panel, Female Threaded

Eventually would become

waterblock cpu : EK-Supreme HF - Full Copper
waterblock gpu : EK EK-FC6970 x2 (when i swap my gpu)
Radiator : rspc rx 360 x2
Pump : swiftech mcp 355 x2 or swiftech mcp 655 using Bitspower Dual D5 Mod Top Extreme
Reservoir : Danger Den rad-reservoir
Tubing : PrimoChill PrimoFlex PRO LRT Tubing 7/16"ID
Barb : bitspower 1/2'' barbs
QDC :Koolance QDC (High Flow) No-Spill Shutoff Nozzle, Male Panel, Female Threaded

And now the design

Thanks for the answer and sorry for the design quality , try to do better with paint

what is more important is how high the rad will be above the case. i see in your pic it will be relatively high. so imo the 355 has a head pressure of 20FT whereas the 655 has head pressure of 10 ft ( this is thow high the pump can push water straight up. ) the 655 has higher flow rate at the expense of head pressure. As such, based on what I just stated, i think you would be fine with the 355. ( better head pressure ) if I am wrong with any of the information, someone please chime in

Aren't we all? I treat mine better than I treat my dog sometimes.

I'm assuming you mean the 355 or 655, in which case I would go with the 355 with a pump top, or the 35x, especially as you are pumping up a height. The 655 is good for short low restriction loops as it has a high flow rate, but not so good for longer loops due to its low head.

No. In fact you will probably have to heat the end in some hot water or with a hair dryer to get it over the barb. After that you will have trouble pulling it off, you will need to slit the tubing to remove it.

Yes. Get one or the other, either will do the job alone.

Ideally yes, they give a little extra performance and reduce noise. Get some old fans (or buy some cheap ones) and gut the internals, that does the job. You might want to using some form of gasket too, again you can buy them or make some up from other materials.

Looks good. One thing I might suggest is going for GPU only blocks right now. They will be cheaper, and you can use them on your next cards too if you want. You just need some Ram and MOSFET sinks to go with them.

Edit:

As a side note, it looks like your CPU cooler could do with a dusting, unless it is just the photo. Also, still using the stock cooler? Shame on you

1) MCP355 has better head pressure which is best for loops with a lot of restriction.

2) No it does not. You do need to heat the tubing to even get the barbs on.

3) Not really overkill. Having both isn't necessary but it can only help.

4) Shrouds aren't really necessary. If you want to use them then go for it but the extra space they take up just isn't worth it to me.

Any other questions??

Just the picture thankfully and yes stock cooler that actually do it's job like a wonder , else it would have been gone long ago .

New set of question !!!!

1 -Which fan to go yate loon medium or scythe gentle typhoon 1850rpm for the rspc rx360?
2 -Fan controller yes or no , if yes which one to go !
3 - idea on how to power up everything as it is nowhere near my power supply ?

Thank you again for the marvelous answer !

1) Ideally the Scythe GT 1850 would be the best out of those but they are also about 5 times as expensive. Personally I would go with either the medium or high speed yate loons from petras depending on whether or not you get a fan controller.
2) Fan controllers definitely aren't necessary. They do help but they also make it a little more messy with the cables. Personally i would just get some high speed yate loons or gentle typhoons and let them go full blast.
3) Since they won't be near your computer you could always just get a second powersupply. All you need to do is jump the green and black wires on the 24 pin and from there you can plug in whatever you want to the molex wires.

Scythe GTs if you can get them. The Yate Loon will push about as much air, just a bit noisier.

If you want. This is a preference thing and depends on how tolerant you are to noise. I would get a fairly simple one, like a Sunbeam Rheobus.

Good question. How handy are you with wiring? If you can run an extension from a Molex line up to your shelf that will probably be the best option, as then your pump and fans turn on and off with your PC. You can probably buy a molex male - female extension cord, or you can extend an existing one or even make a new one up if you got some spare pins and a crimping tool.

Another option would be to get a separate 12v power supply, although this will be more expensive and opens the possibility of your (or someone else) turning your PC on without the pump / fans running.

Glad to hear that the stock cooler was doing so well for you, I hated mine and it was only on for as long as it took me to get a mounting bracket for my CPU block.

More question !

1 - the mcp355 is a 3/8 barb , and I intend to use 7/16 ID (I would appreciate to avoid having to modify the pump) .

2 - If I cannot use the mcp355 , which pump would be sufficient .

Also found 6 scythe gentle typhoon !

Several options:
a) Get the MCP 35x instead, it comes with G1/4" threads so you can use the barbs of your choice.
b) Get a pump top for the 355, this will involve modding the pump but it is easy (invalidates your warranty though).
c) Use tubing reducers to go from 3/8" to 7/16", you will need two of them and a short length of 3/8" tubing.

It really sepends how high the rad is above everything else....
I would just get the MCP355...
Getting a top for the pump would make it more efficient and it will have a little better performance. You might want to consider that.[/qoute]

You don't NEED clamps, but I would recommend using them unless you are ABSOLUTELY sure that it won't leak.

No. It would not be overkill. I would do both. That is what I do...

I have the EK Supreme HF Full Copper. I love it!
You would not need two pumps...
No compression fittings??

Thanks for the answer and sorry for the design quality , try to do better with paint
How high is the rad from the rest?

More question !

1 - the mcp355 is a 3/8 barb , and I intend to use 7/16 ID (I would appreciate to avoid having to modify the pump) .

2 - If I cannot use the mcp355 , which pump would be sufficient .

Also found 6 scythe gentle typhoon !
Swiftech MCP35X would be good.

1)Get those GT 1850RPM's. They are great on that rad.
2)Fan controllers are not necessary. They are nice though.
3)Get a second PSU and jump the black wire. One end in the green wire and one in any black wire.
