ASUS Mail in Rebate Process Review

Greets folks,

I know that MIRs put a lot of people off and a lot of companies have bad reputations for upholding them in a timely manner. I figured I would share my experience from my recent MIR with ASUS.

I purchased a 1 GB ASUS GTX 460 through Newegg for $150 with a $30 MIR (total $120). Price was great if the MIR came through, but people are always skeptical. In this case, it did come through!

The registration process was easy and well thought out, instructions were there and it was crystal clear. The only gripe I had throughout the process was that you can choose the "Express" rebate for a fee ($3) or you can choose the normal rebate, which will take several weeks with no fee. I chose the Express rebate option, and here is a screencap of the process:

As you can see, compared to the current views of MIRs, this MIR was considerably faster.

To conclude, I would recommend buying with confidence when it comes to ASUS products with MIRs. A lot of people, as I said, are put off by them, but ASUS honors their rebates and they honor them quickly and easily.

Hope this helps someone out

Pretty much the same thing I thought about their rebates. I got it back pretty quick as far as rebates go but I really could have done without the 3$ "express" fee. That part was kind of lame.

Glad to hear you got your rebate back but in my experience every company will do the same as long as you can follow the simple steps. The rebates that I can remember that I have attempted:

Xigmatek : 2
BFG : 1
Corsair : 1
Asus : 2
Evga : 1
OCZ : 2
XFX : 1
Logitech : 2

All of them completed but varied on how quickly I got the check back.

I think that people only really comment/review MIRs when they have a poor experience, which is the case with many other things too (product reviews, etc) so I wanted to share a positive experience. I do have the same feeling as you, that if you jump through anyones hoops they will comply eventually, but I was glad to see ASUS came through rather quickly (I have heard some MIRs taking 6 months o.o).
