While I agree that mouse/keyboard will work much better for most games, I have a solution to your original problem. Having used both, I recommend the drivers and program in this guide
over MotioninJoy. I'm pretty sure it's been mentioned on the forum before.
The drivers are pretty simple (you'll probably have to do the "simple fix") - they just identify the controller as a standard HID. You just have to run them and press the PS button every time you plug in the controller.
The real solution is ControlMK (listed under "Sixaxis as a mouse"). While it does do the mouse part, it also allows you to assign any mouse/kb presses to all of the controller buttons AND save them as profiles. Just write down your game configs and map them out in ControlMK.
There are a few conflicts, especially with arrow keys, but it works very well overall. I like to use it for racing/flight games and a few other ones.
