duh everything has a threshold. Considering this is around the corner literally like 2 to 3 months.... Come on.

If your like every other average joe (no offense to any Joes here) that worries only about NOW. You will be worse off for your future. Financially and materially.

Your money is your earned with your time. Money is time. Don't waste the time you have.

I'd recommend saving a bit to add to that 1k, then get the items that you'll be happy with.

purchase common items when on sale or from other OCN member as they upgrade

I'd like to hear your explanation as to why you spent more on a motherboard than you did on a video card. The video card has a major impact on performance while the motherboard has next to none.

Depends what you're doing with it. I've got a 4.2ghz i7 w/ 24gb of mem. and a crap card I found in the closet parts bin running as a render slave / spare rig. Depending on usage a gpu very well may be entirely irrelevant.

Which btw the op has still not stated what exactly this machine is for.....these threads are entirely pointless w/o it.

I bet Intel will come out with something better then bulldozer . You're best going the sandy bridge route, and not go on hear say on bulldozer.

1. Save it up
2. Make a dress out of it
3. Use it as toilet paper
4. Buy a GTX590 and threaten people with its explosive capabilities
5. Plenty of cake

The possibilities are endless, my dear friend.
