Completely agreed. Crytek has made much more of a game this time around with Crysis 2 rather than a nice island sandbox with pretty foliage and some enemies thrown in for good measure. No one seems to be appreciating this as a game but just berating it because it actually runs on modern hardware and doesn't use some arbitrary API (as if that will actually make a huge difference in how it looks).

Okay, so now Crysis also sucks.

It was only subpar if you played it like every other shooter out there. If you used your suit abilities, barrels, trees, stealth, etc correctly, the game was awesome.
Same thing with Crysis 2. You can't just play it like every other shooter out there. Try to run and gun and see how long you'll last. This game also requires planning, thinking, using your environment and suit abilities to get past and really get full enjoyment out of it. The only thing lacking in this game from the first are the trees, but it's in NYC so what do you expect? There's plenty of rubble to hide behind rather than foliage.

To all who responded to my comment, I didn't buy it because I don't HAVE the $60 to spend on this game. I am also waiting for it to come down in price.

And the fact that it uses less technically advanced graphics than Crysis 1, but runs slower on modern hardware.
Exactly, not to mention the lack of Sandbox Editor.

Please fix the horrible AI! Maybe then it won't be such a crappy game, although the small linear levels still don't help much.

Overclocking is a lot of fun in itself, but being able to utilize the power that comes from an overclock by playing games that are taking advantage of DX11, is so much more enjoyable, in my opinion. I think beautiful graphics and great level-design is just as important as a great story and good gameplay.

EDIT:
Sorry for double-posting.

Um...no it has always sucked since the first time I played it and emptied 30 rounds into a guy just to have him shoot me 15 seconds later after I pass by. Yea, I guess if that is your thing then so be it, but for me, I like a game to be fairly realistic. Sorry but a guy isn't going to survive me shooting him in the head and body 30 times. There are plenty of other reason why I hated Crysis1, but since I try and block out such a bad game from memory I don't feel like recalling anymore reasons.

Honestly I wouldn't expect the patch to support DX11. I don't mean there won't be such a patch, but not this soon. I mean, if DX11 support is something so easy that they could add it to the game within a week of release, they would have incorporated it when the game was released anyway. I don't see why they would leave it out when the game was released, and then add it to the game a few days later.

DX11 support won't come soon, if it will ever come.
