Not able to boot from external drive

post #1 of 4
Thread Starter
I installed ubuntu netbook edition on my m11x this weekend and now for some reason it won't boot anymore.

So I decided to reinstall my Windows 7 using the CD that Dell gave me.

Hooked up my external dvd drive , went in boot options ;

How the hell I'm supposed to install it now???

Tried every usb port , rebooted , nothing works , and yes the dvd drive works.

Thank you

Press F11 or F12 (I can't remember which one) but it will bring up a dialogue box asking which device you want to boot from.
MSI EX625

There's only Network and Hard drive.

Weird, not sure how you did that without messing with the bios. Try taking the harddrive out and putting it in your desktop, install windows on it from there and put it back in the laptop and boot. Then if that works you should download any new bios firmwares to try and fix the messed up boot options.
