STOP comparing a MAXED out Crysis to a not maxed out DX9 Crysis 2.

Unless they include a texture pack in the patch, it's not magically going to get better. you could have 8 bit textures in a DX11 game and it would still be DX11

Heyyyy i saw it . I was zooming in and trying to find out whats whats...but actually not zooming in turned out to be the best idea. Yea i see the difference, its alot but cmon its on the ground :S. The only reason i look down is to increase my fps . But maybe if its applied to the entire environment, well it would make a difference.

From when does DX11 increase texture resolution? I thought DOF and Shadows...
Seems like a lot of people think that Crysis 2 with DX11 patch is going to be Crysis 3, lol.
If you meant that they will add better ones with the patch, then ok that's possible.

People who don't get how big of a difference texures make in visuals either have crap monitors, or crap eyeballs. Textures make a HUGE difference, especially when taking depth maps, normal maps, alpha blend maps, etc., into account. If you don't understand how a game is developed, then it might not make any sense. But there is a huge difference. And DX11 does not magically take a 1024x1024 (for example) and change it into a higher res texture like 2048x2048. You need to start out with high res, to get high res. You can't (effectively anyway) take a low res texture and make it high res. All you're doing then is resizing it. Which is pretty much useless except to increase the size of the files. So unless they include new higher res textures WITH the DX11 patch, then no, I can't see the patch doing anything except adding tesselation to the texture effects that are already there.

So basically they could have reused half of what was in the first Crysis to achieve great graphics but they were too lazy to change it as they ported it over.

Oh and if this is going to be 'patched' in, why isn't it already here?
