[PM] PaleMoon 4.0 - Page 4

Harder to force ClearType in Pale Moon for some reason...

In about:config be sure to set gfx.direct2d.disabled to true as well as gfx.font_rendering.directwrite.enabled to false and gfx.font_rendering.cleartype.always_use_for_conten t to true.

It does seem faster than FF4 though.

How are yall getting that its fast?
It is alot slower than chrome and opera.
Im really trying to see why yall say its so fast but I cant.
I could see maybe it having alot more customization but other than that its not to hot of a browser.
IM deff not trying to troll or hate butt give me any kind of proof that this browser is "FAST"
I did my own benchs and it never stands out.

That's 24000KB rounded up (Assuming it's around 23,somerandomnumbers and not 23,000 exactly) out of 8,589,934,592KB of RAM or 4,294,967,296KB of RAM for anyone with 4GB, so why does it matter?

Firefox sync.

I get that in Chrome.

For the record, Firefox RAM usage for me (4.0 final) is 289,688K with 10 tabs open and 82,264K for the plugin-container.exe file, Pale Moon is 247,400K and 54,068K for Plugin-Container.exe for me.

It seems like chrome is faster on my computer than PM4.0. That's just what it seems like to me. Maybe it's my settings?
I don't understand this fixation on "speed" when it comes to browsers. They are all pretty much the same now, so much so that it takes a benchmark to really tell the difference. Just pick the one that has the features and UI that you prefer and go with it. All this back and forth about speed differences is laughable at best. I've used FF for years, got used to it, it has the features I like. I'll stay with it most likely, though I'll give this a go, as it is based on Ff.

This. Functionality rules.
Honestly, this is kind of akin to the Mac/Windows conflict.

One camp favors less (bare) functionality with a pretty UI that "just works," while the other favors the ability to add functionality with a very malleable UI.

Yes, that puts Chrome on the Mac side of that loose analogy.
