yeah i don't like jumping into new filesystems...i did that with ext4 when it was still in "beta", thankfully there wasn't any catastrophic failures during that time that made me think twice about it...but also it wasn't totally alien to me like some of the other FS's out there...most of the tools for ext3 with a patch or a slight modification would work correctly on ext4, so that was another plus.
i think it would be a long time before i would even consider switching to say the likes of btrfs, i did make the switch to reiserFS, and it was great at the time, but it quickly lost support (didn't know why till you (error10) pointed out to as why), and it is too big of a gamble for me, i like things to be cutting edge, but not my filesystem, even tho i took that gamble with ext4, i will never do that again
