Are you planning to overclock that CPU? If you are I would read this thread, very good information, and you may want to get a mobo with more than just 4+1 phase power. Very bad things can happen with a cpu of that caliber and non heat-sinked MOSFETs. http://www.overclock.net/amd-cpus/94...hy-choose.html

i wouldn't get any psu or any pc component that says Green on it.

This one costs 5 more dollars, gives continuous power, has one move 12v rail, has great feedback, and is modular, which will make installation and cable management much easier and will involve less "shoving" cables into obscure places.

i don't doubt that, but i personally don't want anything power saving, or green in my performance computer. personal preference i guess. but that modular psu i recommended is a nice unit for 5 more dollars

What difference does it make? It's just in a name. What's wrong with saving power? Modular - okay, but there are better modular units out there.

but putting that name on it charges more for a psu, that for the same money (as my example shows) will get you a much better psu.

The 500D has better efficiency, and decent ripple suppression. Here's a review I pulled from the recommended PSUs thread: link. The Antec 300 can hide the extra cables just fine. My friend has a 500D unit and I have yet to hear any complaints from him.
