Best Sprint 3G phone?

Thread Starter
I'm probably gonna move to Sprint in the near future. I wanna know what is a good phone I can get that isn't 4G. I currently have a Droid, and I love it, but it can't come with me. ;(

Most of the Android phones are 320x480 or whatever so thats a downgrade, but I guess I have to make sacrifices. So whats a good phone that has custom roms? I don't care if its Android, its just what I'm used to now, only other platform I can deal with is Blackberry, and they're kinda lame once you try Swype and Swiftkey :/

Is there a reason why you wouldn't be looking at getting a EVO 4G?
Why no 4G phones? Not to mention, I have a few friends that have the EVO 4G and they say nothing but good things about it.

The LG Optimus S from Sprint is a entry level smartphone that is not 4G. I believe there's custom roms for them.

FYI Sprint now charges extra $10.00 a month whether or not you have a 4G phone. Customer Service@Sprint told me they're now charging that to keep the unlimited data plans available. If you wanna spend big $$$ then get a 4G phone like a Epic or Evo. I like my LG Optimus S. Just my

It's not really unlimited... 3G there is a 5GB cap. Though 4G, is unlimited w/ no cap.

Thanks for the clarification, just found the info on their site too, i would be aiming for 4G though, seeing that they charge the $10 regardless of 3G/4G

On Sero, its unlimited regardless, is there such a cap? I know its present on other companies, but Sprint is truly unlimited, isn't it? 4G sucks the battery alot faster too.

It's not a hard cap though, it just starts throttling. I would say get an evo if you have the money or get an optimus S if you can't. The optimus S is actually a very good low end android device, it's faster than the original droid and iphone 3gs.
