MCP-655B Voltage reducer? - Page 2

tried this before do not do it.

as the water gets warmer its slightly harder to pump.

had a nasty hot spot in my loops.

leave the pumps on max dude trust me...

I plan on it, but if I want to play with it, one of these seem like a cheap idea. I think i'll grab 2 of these then :

since 6v seems to be minimum.

Does anyone think that will break it? I know it will have less flow, but that's the point, and to be a bit quiter, like a level 2/3 on the variable I assume?

I haven't worked with pumps before but try them to wire them in series. I mean from an engineering standpoint they have the same impedence so when wired in series you should half their voltage.

Or maybe I'm still groggy from waking up and I'm spewing nonsense. hahha

Here's a wiki link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voltage_divider
Notice their example when R1 is = to R2 the Vout (voltage in the second pump) is 1/2 the voltage of the total.

you think it'll auto "half voltage" on their own?

they will be run in a series.

How much voltage is supplied if you only have 1 connected? It should half them if it's ran in series. I'm not sure how pumps work so you should do a little research before committing to it. haha

Just a little suggestion

I do know that the same amperage (current) is supplied through the circuit.. Is there a certain amount that you need?

Interesting, I actually don't know.

One thing's for certain, your flow rate will drop but I'm not sure about pressure head; if you go with putting them in series.

Hey, one more thing. Just to make sure you know what I meant.

When I mean series I mean the electrical circuit not the water circuit.
