hilarious...

im against this merger...tmobile has always had the best prices
post #22 of 58
The only negative aspect of the merger is the effect to T-Mobile customers. They lose plans that had some nice perks. Now, aside from uncapped services, I checked a while back and T-Mobile prices weren't a large amount cheaper than what I paid with AT&T. So, while the merger is bad news for T-Mobile subscribers, I don't see it as giving AT&T the go-ahead to raise all of their prices, that's just crazy. They'll compete head on with Verizon. It *may* create a price drop in services.

If AT&T becomes this large, to get customers to switch, Verizon either drops data caps completely, or drops subscription fees, and AT&T has to follow. It's possible. they may end up just having a feature war though.

I want sprint to die, I've had them twice with phone service and they are horrible at service, support, and coverage. There's really no wonder in my mind why Sprint has such small market share.

If it goes through, Sprint will just merge with Verizon and it'll be Sprint/Verizon vs ATT/T-Mobile duking it out.

While i'm against this, seems like Sprint needs the world's smallest violin playing for them.

True. I haven't had them in 10 years because they liked to invent random fees.

It looks like AT&T will be the only GSM network left.

Anyone care to explain what happens if they don't merge. Would t-mobile just go out of business and customers have to migrate to somewhere else anyway?

Exactly, I used to be with verizon and they charge more than at&t because they have a better network (maybe not anymore) and they literally raped me for over 150 a month for my blackberry. When I told them they need to stop charging me for every possible thing they could think of they basically told me what are you going to do? I went with boost yes once in a while I get a dropped call but I pay 35 a month for completely unlimited service, and that's not a bad trade off.

I have sprint and actually (in Milwaukee) their service and support is pretty good. I have had my phone and my wifes phone conk out and they replaced it quickly. They have a nice store here where (while very busy) the service reps are really excellent.

They don't have the best phones, but the EVO and Epic are decent. I have a pre, which I dislike, but w/e. Their blackberry selection (which my wife uses) isn't bad, though.

The number one thing they are not going to like is well... The customer service. Many people say that they had came from ATT to T-Mobile for the better handset and prices but most of all, the "Great Customer Service". That is the major thing we have going for us. Grant it you will always get that unruly representative but who doesn't? Someone always hates there job. Lol

The only good thing that could possibly come out of this if it happened would be the coverage. Every ATT and every T-Mobile tower would be on the same network which could possibly match or at least come close to Verizons network coverage.

Cons:
Higher Price Plans
****ty Phones
****tier Customer Service
Cap on Unlimited Internet

Pros:
Better Coverage

Don't think those really match up there. Lol

The problem is that Verizon is more expensive, their phones are a pain in the ass to root and mod, and their customer service is terrible too.

Here I was planning to jump from AT&T to Tmobile, only to hear about the merger (read: hostile takeover).

Is there no way for us as citizens to vote against this? Or is that now up to the elected officials to do?

Thing is, if people like what Sprint offers, they have no need to be upset.
