Systray Vs. Console GPU Client

Thread Starter
I'm new to folding and currently folding with 2 GTX 580s and a smp client with my 5GHz i7. I'm using all console clients and getting around 70-77K PPD. Is there any performance difference between the systray and console clients?

No difference, also the new v7 client just got released and you can use that as well.
You do not have to update if you do not want to, its just an all in one client.

Check signature for more info.

I've downloaded the v7 client, but haven't installed it yet. I've read several posts that it's not recommended to upgrade unless you are an ATI folder. Is that the consensus of the forum?

You can exit out all your old clients, install that one and see if you like it and works for you.
If not just exit it and open your old clients and continue folding where you left off.

It will not override the old clients when you install it.

This...this is what I'll be trying tonight. Chris, will it pick up the WU where the old (in my case console) clients left off using the GROMACS checkpoints?

So i won't need 3 separate instances of F@H running for both my GPU's and CPU?

Correct. All your folding will be done in one neat tidy package.

Probably but I haven't tested it.

I'm assuming you're folding for 37726?

I lost my nerve and didn't try it out; I instead put -oneunit flags on all my clients and let them finish.
