HDD was being read, but not anymore

So, I pulled my computer out of sleep mode this morning. I noticed that my 2nd HDD was not being read by Windows (checked device manager, was not present). Have had no issues in the past with this (1tb Seagate 7200rpm). Restarted, nothing. Checked in BIOS, not being read by BIOS. Don't have time to unplug/replug in HDDs as I have to leave for school for the day. All my drives are currently in the hotswap bays of my Corsair 800D. I have had problems with SSDs in the past with these two hotswap bays, starting to think that it is faulty. Will try running them later on not in those bays. Anyone have any thoughts/input on this? I do not have a raid setup. Windows 7 is installed on a seperate HDD in bay 1, the HDD in question is in bay 2, it is partitioned, no RAID setup.

It would be a good idea to remove as many break points as possible, so connecting the HDD to the motherboard/PSU directly should be the first thing to do. Then the usual - change power and/or sata cables, try it on another rig and hope something will work. Since you had issues with other disks I too think the problem could be from the hotswap bays, but still you should check.

Ok, looks like I got the problem fixed! And it looks like it was indeed faulty hotswap bays in my 800D. Not sure if it would still be covered under warrenty...and to be honest, not sure if I would want to get it replaced. That is going to be one big headache since I do not have another full tower to put my stuff in (nor do I really wanna do it). Seems my bottom two hotswaps work fine, but sticking to the lower level HDD spots. Seems that the hotswap bays were also screwing up my SSDs, they are running like they did on day 1 now!
