Sleeving recommendation and heatshrink

post #1 of 18
Thread Starter
Hello, anyone could recommend where to get sleeving from in Europe? I'm from Spain and the prices here are *@#$%@¬!

Also I could use some help regarding what type of size to use to sleeve 3/4(Pwm) Pin fans, Sata cables, Front panel cables, usb, audio and that stuff.
Was looking at the MDPC small sleeve, but looks like is too tight for sata cables and will have to buy the sata sleeve they offer.
10 meters small + 1 meter heat shrink + 5 meter sata sleeve + 0,7 meter of sata heat shrink is cheeper than a sleeving kit in spain. (sleeving kit link Link)

Could use some help

If you order from MDPCX (which you should, best sleeve on the market), the small sleeve will do well for all of your 24 Pin/Power/ cables from your psu, as well as fans, front panel switches, etc.

You'll obviously want the Sata and USB sleeve for the respective connectors.

Start with this kit: http://en.mdpc-x.com/mdpc-sleeve/sle...sleeve-kit.htm
I'd also add a few more meters of small sleeve. Better to have too much than not enough.

Also, when you create an account on MDPCX, the prices are lower.

The problem is that the kit is out of my budget price, and using the small + sata will be way cheaper than buying the whole kit. Think I'm going to go 1 pack of small and 1 pack of sata to be honest

I see. Well, figure most PSU's have 2 feet of wire per wire. So that's 24 inches per wire, figure 40 wires at 24 inches equals 960inches, which is 480 feet which is 48 meters of sleeve needed for the PSU, give or take. Then add front panel, fans, etc.

Also, I hope you have tools for the connectors, otherwise, good luck lol

Would you consider paracord? (parachute cord) Check the Cable Sleeving Review here

8$ for 100ft on ebay for 550 lb paracord

Paracord sleeving guide

and a link from that guide for paracord shipped internationally:

960inches =/= 480 feet, and 480 feet =/= 48 meters

960in = 80ft = ~ 25m

I won't be sleeving the PSU as I got extensions for the 24 pin, 8 pin and graphic cards, got them real cheap from a nzxt retailer. What I want to sleeve is, fron panel cables, usb, audio, fans, and sata cables.

Thought about paracord but sleeving sata cables with that. would be impossible I think

Paracord is absolute crap. Don't bother with it. If that's all you're looking to sleeve, get 20 meters of small sleeve, then 15 meters of the Sata sleeve. The Sata sleeve will work well with USB as well.
Get 1 meter of heat shrink in both small and in USB and you'll be good to go.
