Crysis 2: Lighthouse and Pier 17 maps, FPS problems with GTX 470

Hey boys, same rig as in sig.

Lighthouse and Pier 17 play like crap for me. In any resolution, the game just feels jerky for a few secs then stops, then happens again randomly.

Anyone experience this and fix it? Am I waiting for a patch here? My system runs fine, I really would like to play some damn MP but I will not exit levels or play with "Very High" settings. Looks like crap on Very High. LOD is sooo bad and they use Quincunx AA. Yeah no joke, Quincunx.

*edit

Tried every new driver. 266.58, 267.24, 270.28, 270.32. No difference. All removed and reinstalled properly with Driver Sweeper used in Safe Mode after removing the driver. Furthermore the system exhibited these issues on a fresh install with Windows 7 Enterprise.

Unless every current driver out is the culprit, I doubt it. Thank you for the reply though.

Going to do some tests right now. I know it's something to do with shadows/lighting. The Lighthouse and Pier 17 have tons of SSAO.

Shame really. There is not a DX9 game out there that looks like this. It's very impressive in that regard. Unfortunately for me, not much else.

nothing against the current drivers, its the crap left behind by any old ones not properly cleaned. simply installing the newest ones over the old ones doenst cut it.

Hehe, I know.

I edited my first post to show this, hehe. This happened on a fresh install of Windows 7 Enterprise.

And every driver tested thereafter was removed and installed like this:

Removed PhysX Driver ---> Display Driver
Reboot Into Safe Mode ---> Use Driver Sweeper
Reboot Into Normal Mode ---> Install Driver with "Clean Install" Option

No luck with driver swapping as of yet. Tried "Xtreme-G 267.24" as well, no dice. Seems like a sweet driver though. Helped in all other instances.

Driving me nuts though, I know the card can do it. 70% of the time it plays flawless. It just starts freaking out, if you will.

LOL.

Pier 17 is the most demanding map in Crysis 2,so you will need to lower something with the advanced graphics configurator.

I though this too. It exhibits these symptoms at 1280x1024 as well.

My System can handle anything at that res. FPS is locked @ 120 the whole time I play at 1280x1024, it still does the exact same thing.

Something is up. These are odd jerks, and frameskips maybe. I have like 25gb/s main memory bandwidth and 1.28gb of VRAM. This game doesn't have what it takes to saturate that at 1600x1200 which is the res I play at.

Wouldn't everyone agree?

I have also tried 1920x1440 on Extreme with no AA and still the same issues persist.
