Hey! People!

I am thinking of upgrading my PC

;Before
CPU - AMD Athlon64 x2 5200+ OC 3.0Ghz
GPU - nVidia EN9800GT 512mb
RAM - 3x 2GB 667mhz (kingstone 2Gb DDR2 800mhz + 2x 2Gb DDR2 667mhz)
MB - ASUS M3N78-VM
HDD - 2x 160Gb (MAXTOR Serial ATA 1.5Gb/s) + (Seagate E-IDE(ATA-6)
600W PSU (not 80Plus)

;After
CPU - Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4Ghz (I will buy for 92USD)
GPU - Saphire HD5830 1Gb (I will buy for 176) + nVidia EN9800GT 512mb only PhysX.
RAM - 3x 2GB 667mhz (kingstone 2Gb DDR2 800mhz + 2x 2Gb DDR2 667mhz)
MB - ASUS P5N32 E-SLI PLUS (I will buy for 56USD)
HDD - 2x 160Gb (MAXTOR Serial ATA 1.5Gb/s) + (Seagate E-IDE(ATA-6)
PSU 600W (is not 80Plus)
Total 282USD

With this new configuration, I was thinking about overclocking the CPU to around 2.8 ~ 3.2Ghz, but I'll probably percise a new cooler.
Still do not know how for the HD5830 (main) + nVidia 9800GT (only PhysX)
And yet the two HDD in Raid 0 (PS: I know that does not work on RAID drives ATA / IDE but if you buy an adapter for IDE / SATA will work?)
They told me that the source could handle SLI 9800GT, but do not know if it can handle the 5830 + 9800GT .
Do not want to spend much money because I still need to buy a sound card and the cooler for the CPU (282 + 70~100USD).

I'm just enjoying the old parts of a PC friend.

IMO I would start with a newer faster CPU! There are plenty of really good affordable options from Intell and AMD. Start with a new cpu&motherboard and work your way up from there!! Just my opinion!!!!

Actually you can do physx with ATI as the primary adapater as long as the card meant for physx is Nvidia. Read this.

As for the OP, you can get much newer and improved hardware for the price of the Q6600 and a 775 motherboard. Shop around a bit and you could land some nice i5 gear for the same price.

EDIT: I would strongly recommend looking at the For Sale section here under 'Main Components' to get your upgrades. There are some really generous people here who sell their very nice parts for dirt cheap (i.e. an i7 920 for $120?!?!? GOD I wish I would have seen that sooner.)

Just upgrade your CPU to a Phenom II or a Athlon II quad. They should drop right into your motherboard.

You won't be able to RAID0 that seagate drive with your maxtors.

It's possible to run a hack so you can use your 9800GT as a Physx card.

Let us know what your budget is so we can help you out a little more.

Where do you live? It might be cheaper to buy components off the marketplace and have the seller ship them internationally.

It's a good option but I only try update some component, because 9800GT and my motherboard have less one year. I'm not thinking these parts lie gathering dust.
