[LifeHacker]Don’t Spend Good Money on a Not-That-Fast Gaming/Performance Mouse - Page 2

I wouldn't spend more than $50 on one. I got my G500 for like $25 or something, I don't remember. Love having friends with employee discounts.

The best mice I've used: CM Sentinel (no joke!) and the Mionix Naos 5000, even though the Mionix isn't very comfy for me.

I found the Sentinel to be quite uncomfortable, the Mamba felt like a sticky mess after just 10 minutes of use. Rubberized cheap plastic, combined with the cheapest of performance sensors, you get a company who'd want to make an entrance into the "gaming peripherals" niche of hardware.

I compare the Philips Twin Eye to be the Rubber Dome keys in "premium" and expensive gaming keyboards.

I see where you're coming from. Personally, I think the Sentinel was the most comfortable gaming mouse I've ever used. And I've bought.... 11 different mice in three years? Yeah. I've got fairly large hands and shift my mouse from side to side with my thumb and ring finger, so it's just a personal preference, really.

Though I do agree, Razer's gear is pretty terrible. I owned their Razer Pro mouse and it was phenomenal. Everything since then I've owned is just junk.

i still use my intellimouse 1.1a. i havent experienced negative acceleration since dropping a 1000hz polling usb driver into my system32 folder. and the 800dpi is right up my alley with my use of low sensativity. i got my mouse for $12. so i think my price vs performance is pretty high up there.

It's like a keyboard.... on a mouse.

Anyway, I don't think anybody has ever complained that their mouse didn't click faster. That is stupid. What people look for is accurate tracking, ergonomics, extra button functionality, etc.

Besides, if your mouse is able to click faster than it probably means it takes less of a touch to activate the switch. This is a very bad thing when gaming as a lot of motions are erratic and would result in accidental clicks.

Like someone else said, I think they missed the point.

Did I mention I love my MX518? Best mouse I have ever owned.
