Corsair: TX650V2 vs. TX750 - Page 2

Why not those XFX power supplies? As stated earlier, it's the same internally as the Corsair TX V2.

Regardless, all the suggestions in this thread are bad deals compared to this Antec TruePower New 650W for $70 at NCIX (low price ends 3/30/11):

I don't finish school til end of April, so just getting ideas for now and will be doing the build when I'm back in town.

There is only a crappy Canada Computers where I go to school...

P.S. So I'll be getting the same level of reliability with the XFX?

The xfx pro and corsair tx v2 are built by seasonic using the exact same platform.if you remove the outer casings the guts will be exactly the same.so the reliability would be the same and its backed up by seasonic quality.

I see! I did some research, and Seasonic and Antec are the big boys when it comes to PSU right?

Maybe I should move my direction towards them...

The V2 and XFX apparently are on the seasonic platform as stated already, so you're already moving towards them?

The Corsair TX V2 units do have an advantage over the XFX Core units -- the warranty. Corsair's is 5 years, XFX's is 3. That, along with arguably superior customer service, is why you pay a bit more for the Corsair units.

That's not accurate. SeaSonic is an OEM, Antec isn't. Corsair is as big a boy as Antec in this market, but neither company actually makes any of the units they sell. However they do get a lot of their units from SeaSonic.

Some companies may decide to make small changes, but on the whole the platform should look and perform pretty similar.

seasonic, delta, channel well tech, enermax, superflower and a whole host of others but these are the main group, they all make psu's for other companies and/or sell under own name

seasonic does work for antec, corsair, xfx and obviously themselves

delta has become synonymous with antec of late since 75% of all antec psu's are made by delta

channel well does work for thermltake, corsair and minor ocz

enermax dont lend out theur psu's to many companies but the main few are abs, sapphire and their own sister brand Lepa

superflower are new first class brand who provide for kingwin, rosewill, xion, nox and the new nzxt, but e selective when it comes to some of these brands as some will skimp bit on their specified designs where by they tell super flower to cut back on some parts
