MSI P67A-GDxx Overclockers: What BIOS version are you using?

Thread Starter
I own a P67A-GD65. My board shipped with 1.9, I am currently using A7681IMS.1A3 / v1.10b3 and will probably try out 1.10b4 or roll back to 1.10b1 to see if I can get better stability and lower voltages.

What version BIOS (official or beta) has worked the best for you?

1.10b4, I can't say which has worked best for me, I'm a lazy overclocker_ all I did was bump the multiplier to 48 and adjust my ram timings and increase the ram speed up from 1333mhz to 1600mhz _ Key Intel Steppings enable_ so I get a nice 1.6ghz idle and 4.8ghz o/c and my voltages don't go past 1.35-1.37_ My temps never past 55-56C with me gaming-multitasking_ (Prime95 around 63-65C)

Left everything else on Auto thats how lazy I am and to my surprise, overclocking is gotten pretty easy(of course I could go tweak some things but I notice if I manually adjust my voltages, it doesnt drop to .8-.9volts on idle as it does with it set to Auto.

by the way how are those MSi 460 SLi performing for you in terms of temperatures on both cards under load? idle?

J/w due to me building a second rigg and considering those exact cards

These things are sweet! But let me get back to you on temps as I just built this rig and I am trying to get everything just right on the CPU. I've never built / overclocked an Intel box before. It is taking some time getting used to the switch from AMD.

I just got my board today and it shipped with 1.9, so that's what I'm using. I'm still on the stock cooler so I haven't pushed my chip hard yet :x 4.3Ghz on the stock cooler with stock voltage isn't bad though

Just to be clear, you're saying you set the core voltage to auto?

I'm on 1.10b3. board shipped with 1.8, but that didn't allow stable overclocks, and 1.9 had some other problems...

Yeah mines on auto, I did a 24hr Prime95 stress test and no problems =] so I'm sticking with it_

I find that the motherboard pratically adjusts the voltages on its own(at least with mine it did)

at 3.4ghz stock clock, I never exceeded 1.20-1.25volts

at 4.8ghz now, I never exceed 1.35-1.37 volts

It seem to have increase the Vcore a tiny bit on its own, which is a huge Plus for me, considering I'm hate getting the right voltages(and plus I get best of both worlds, low voltages with idle and the right amount of voltage with load)

They run about 32-34C at idle and never hit 50C at load.

1.10v4 installed. Voltages seem to be the same.

Still testing but the one thing I did notice was that the Vdroop setting has been changed from "High Vdroop or Low Vdroop" to "Auto or Low"

I had mine setup the same way (at 4.5ghz). I ran some benchmarks @ 4.5 with speedstep enabled and then overclocked manually to 4.5 and the manual overclocking was A LOT faster. I bumped up the long/short duration power limit and it didn't seem to help. Have you tested this?
