Upgraded Alienware m17x with Goodies

post #1 of 9
Thread Starter
I am thinking about selling my Alienware m17x. It's a preconfigured-for-retail model available from Micro Center.

SPECS:

* Intel® Core™ i7-740QM
* 6GB DDR3-1333 RAM
* 500GB 7,200RPM Hard Drive
* 8x Dual Layer DVD±RW Drive
* 8-in-1 Media Card Reader
* Dual ATI Radeonâ„¢ HD 5870
* 1440x900 Display
* Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
* DisplayPort, HDMI, and VGA

ACCESSORIES

* Alienware TactX Mouse
* Alienware-branded Mobile Edge backpack
* Crucial C300 128GB SSD (the 500GB plattered is now a secondary)

What are we thinking here? To give you an idea of the horsepower here it will drive L4D2 at 2560x1600 with moderate settings smoothly.

Thats all easly worth $2,000(Quick sale), or like $2,500 or more to the right person.
post #3 of 9
Id have to disagree and say $1500-1700.
The reasons for this are the lower res screen, lack of blu-ray, and the graphics chip being a generation behind.

$2000 tops, $1800 if you want it gone quick. Sold a similar system in the summer (dual 4870s, no SSD) for $1600.
