Does the push and pull effect work?

Thread Starter

I have a Antec P183. It only came with 2 fans that are both exhaust. It has optional fans for intake. I'm thinking about adding the optional fans for intake to my case will improve my cooling for overclocking. If you read the P183 Manual you can either add a single fan for intake or 2 fans for the push and pull effect. My question is will it be worth getting 2 fans for the push and pull effect or will 1 fan for intake do it?

Fan I'm thinking of buying

or recommend me a better one that is quieter and just as efficient or better.

having fans taking air in and venting it out is far better than just venting it, the reason being as it sets up a proper airflow pattern through the case. Disabling the front and side fans on my case result in a 4C increase in core temp and a 10C increase in GPU temp.

balance the airflow so for every unit of air that goes in, the same amount comes out the exhaust. You want neutral airflow with that case
