Good news and bad news from OCZ re: Vertex 3

This was just posted @ the overclockers.co.uk by Gibbo of OCUK

"Hi there

OCZ are here with me today, the news is good and bad.

The good news is drives did ship last night.

The bad news is OCZ were expecting 14,000 controllers and only recieved 3000 controllers for their whole worldwide allocation.

This means only 1/5th of the expected stock is available resulting in the UK only been allocated 90 of each drive, yes 90 for the whole of the UK. Out of those 90 drives were pushing to get 60 units.

Its not great as we have a lot more backorders. OCZ are ensuring they are doing everything to get more drives into OcUK first simply because we have more backorders than any other etailor resulting in OcUK getting priority allocation.

So those of you who pre-ordered early on should get a drive, but those who have pre-ordered in the last week or so unfortunately you may have to wait another 1-2 weeks.

I have arranged for a conference call with one of OCZ's directors this evening as to how much of a disgrace this is to see if I can battle to get allocation from other countries shipped to OcUK. I shall be doing my best! "

So the question for us in the US is which retailers are getting this limited first batch of stock. Also, apparently the price has gone up in the UK. Hopefully that's not the case here.

Looks they are the only ones that got some thus far.
