How much silver and putting it into a copper loop?

Thread Starter
Hi,

I am going to be doing some upgrading to my WC loops, and want to add a silver coil into it this time. I am using PT Nuke. But how much of the coil do I want per loop? will one coil do 2 loops? and will the silver mess with the copper blocks? can I use silver and PT Nuke or is that overkill or will it mess up loops?

Thank you for your time and info.

Personally, I think there is no need for putting a killcoil and PT Nuke. Choose one or the other.

Use one kill coil per loop. and if you really want security do two drops of pt nuke in the loop. but if you're using distilled water and you don't contaminate the water, then just the coils are fine.

Never tried PT Nuke, but silver has been perfect for me. I bought it from here: https://www.aemetal.com.au/Webstore/...gh-purity.aspx

I purchased 10 grams of 3mm thick 99.99% pure silver wire for around $13 (I think it's gone up a tiny bit in price since then though) which worked out to be around 7" long wire. I just bent it into a kilcoil shape and put it in my res, nothing else. Water is still completely clean and crystal clear after almost a year.

The amount I used was probably overkill, but I figured better safe than sorry, and it is so cheap, why not?
