Suggestions for sharp bend/tight space.

Thread Starter
I dont' have pictures right now, but am hoping to get some preliminary suggestions.

I have re-routed all the tubing in my WC loop. In order to keep it somewhat orderly, I have routed some of the tubing around the back side of the case. The problem is, I need the tubing to do a 180*° and go through a tight space.

Are there any fittings/connectors that will do this and allow a smaller diameter, like a tube that I can fit through the hole, then fittings on either end to go back to the 1/2" ID 3/4" OD tubing? Will this restrict flow by too much?

I know this would be easier with pics, but that is not an option right now, will try to add later.

You could add to 90 degree bends but I would try to avoid that.

90 degree bend cause a big pressure drop.

hmm....I am not sure about routing the tubes too much as to unnecessarily increasing length or bends. I think it will affect performance. But I will have to let a more experienced w/c person to speak.

Typically, the shortest, straightest tubes possible are preferred. Less length/bends equals less pressure needed for best flow.

Look at these- might be just what the doctor ordered

If you use these, you will probably have to get a female-female adaptor to be able to attach barbs.

Find a spring or something to fit the inner diameter of your tubing...even sand will work; just as long as when you make your bend, the tubing won't collapse or kink.

Bend your tubing, dip into boiling water for a few seconds, then into ice water...repeat several times...tubing will form the bend.

Here are a couple pics so you can see what I'm dealing with.

First a picture of the full loop:

Here is a closeup of the area. There are already 3 tubes in the area so I am trying to run one of the tubes along the back side of the radiator.

So, from the top radiator, I had to make a loop to try to keep the tube from kinking:

There is plenty of room for the tube behind the radiator, just getting it there is the problem. It's a tight squeeze between the motherboard and the fan.

Why cant you just turn the radiator around the other way ? It would get rid of 2 lines of tubing.

Yeah, that was my original intention. Unfortunately, there is no way to secure the radiator because the screw holes line up with the giant hole where the top fan used to be.

Cheap n' dirty?

Zip ties my friend!

Use small zip ties, and lots of em, around the bend under a slight compression, this will reinforce the tubing so that it does not pinch in the apex of the bend... I do this all the time, works great and the price is right. Baring that, there are of course, spring coils that you could install, but that sucks if your not of the mind to break the loop down.

Check my sig rig for some pics of this very thing in action.

Based on the picture, try a rotary adapter snake. http://www.frozencpu.com/cat/l3/g30/...ake-Page1.html

You will need some of these to connect it to the radiator. http://www.frozencpu.com/products/11...=c497s1362b145

There is a low profile version of that male to male as well but being at work I can't spend time trying to find where I saw it
