and yes, if you want over 3 monitors in an eyefinity setup, you will have to use an active DisplayPort adapter (or not if your monitor has displayport) as you can only have 2 outputs out of the 2xDVI and 1xHDMI

yeh it will but it'll depend on what his resolution will be, if he's going to go for the maximum resolution nowadays, yeh he will lose FPS for the lack of vram, but the crossifre performance will make it up for it, not as good as a 2gb ram but good enough without spending loads of money for a new card.

Edit : get a 6950 2gb or if you can push it get 2 of them and crossfire ^_^
