Thread Starter
My first post so i would like to say hi first

Now the problemm. My 2500k is ideling hight ,about 43c on the hottest core, At 1600mhz and 0.975 v .
when under load at 4400mhz for 2 hours (prime blend) the hottest core hits 65c which i,m fine with , i am using a titan fenrir , wich has beem reseated 3 times now .

My overclock is done using offset -0.06 and hight LLC. everything else on auto at the moment

I want to start pushing higher but need to sort the high idle out first ..

Any ideas

Idle doesn't matter in the slightest. The sensor is only accurate when the temp gets high enough, as its job is to throttle the chip when needed. As far as load, 65c does seem a bit warm for the clock, but it also depends on what your room temp is.

Hi and welcome to OCN

I'm not one of the gurus but perhaps this link may help, or at the least provide ideas

other thread

Your idle temps are high, don't know if your load temps for that speed are fine or not.

maybe OC it just a bit more and see what load temps look like?

Hi and welcome!
How is your intake/outake (are these real words?) from your case.
If they are bad then of course your idle temps will be higher than ambient-temps.
(Ok your loadtemps will even be higher)
Please go to the top of the page where it says "User CP" and fill out your system specs.
Have fun here and good O.C.-ing!

Right . i put everything back to default in bios. And noticed 2 strange things . 1 is that all 4 cores are the same temp ,were as before there was a 9c difference across the cores . Also when idle with no cpu activity my temps jump eraticcaly from 33c to 45c . This is reported in both core temp and real temp . I know at idle temperatures fluctuate but thease just jump all over the place ???

You mean exhaust but I think everyone understands what you mean.

@OP I wouldn't worry about idle but try a reseat and new thermal paste, temps seem high (load too) for such a low vcore. What is your ambient temp?

Edit: My idle temps also jump a little now and then, it can get like 13% load for a second and raise some degrees then down again, from personal experience.

The ambient temps is the temp of the room your PC is at.
You don`t need the exact temps but if you are in a room that is 50°C then 25°C with aircooling will be hard to achive
The jumps might be caused by a stuck temp sensor. 2 of my cores are allways @35°C (idle)
only if i put load on them and reach temps above 35 the temps in this 2 cores start rising.
This is the effect of a stuck temp. sensor...
And thx Recluse for helping me out! (but intake is a funny word_creation )

I think i'v sorted it out . I Turned llc down to high and went fron offset -0.06 to -0.02 ,and my temps and volts actually went down . Seems that LLC really pushes up the volts ..

I am now ideling at 32-34 amd after 2 hours of 95 blend my hottest core just pushes 64 .
I have ordered a dh14 cooler so i shall wait for that before i go any higher...
