I'm referring to the reference galaxy 570. The one with the giant plastic shroud and the removable fan looks bizarre to me. I am hearing good things about the noise and thermals of the reference coolers with the vapor chamber or whatever.

I say all that because I'm not sure what you mean by innovative in regards to a reference card.

My biggest concern is the warranty and if they skimp on the actual fan they use in the card.

Galaxy is one of those brands that has a long history of making Nvidia cards and has reasonable warranty procedures. Due to the lack of frills they often come in a little cheaper than brands like EVGA.

I own a GTX480 through Galaxy, good card, overclocks well (although that has nothing to do with the vendor).

I have a KFA2 GTX 570, I believe KFA2 is the European brand of Galaxy, and I think it is a great card, I have it oc’d to 950core, 2000 memory at 1.1V, and a pretty aggressive fan profile that keeps the temps down.

One thing that made me choose KFA2 was that their RMA processing centre was in the UK so for me it would be the easiest to replace should the VRM’s finally die on my 570.

So i got the Galaxy 570 in the mail yesterday, and i have been playing around with it.

Best I can do is 875/1925 @1.088v and complete a Heaven 2.1 run.

Problem is the thing gets HOTTTTTT

Fan capped at 65% it hits 95 degrees after 1 heaven bench.
Fan capped at 70% it hits 90 degrees after 1 heaven bench.

Over 70% the fan gets really loud.

Those are temps that are higher than any other card I have seen in the 570 overclocking thread.

The VID is 1.013 which also seems higher than other reference cards.

I got this card for $329 - $40 MIR - $25 newegg loyalty coupon = $264. Plus it came with a USB TV tuner. Thats a crazy price, but it seems like I got a shoddy card?

95c in Heaven? That's insane. My top card in SLI tops out at 65-70c in Heaven. Don't try furmark

How does the tuner work btw? I'm in the market for one myself.
