Bios Programming

Alright This is probably going to sound left wing but i have a problem with my bios. I tried to install this adapter

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-062-_-Product

into my computer today and my computer gave me an error code "104 unsupported wireless network device detected system halted remove device and restart". My HP laptop has (from what I've read across the internet) a whitelist of computer hardware upgrades that i can put in it's mini PCI-E slot. Currently it is an Atheros g/n adapter that i loathe. The range is crappy and it doesn't have full N compatibility.

Alright, I've read on the internet

here

http://helpdeskgeek.com/help-desk/fi...-halted-error/

and here

http://www.wimsbios.com/forum/topic8367.html

that you can remove said whitelist and reflash the bios and i can use the hardware again.

I'd really rather use the card that i just purchased instead of removing it and using one that HP recommends. Seriously what kind of universal PCI-E socket is it if you can't even install your own hardware.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can even provide a copy of my current bios if someone has the know how on how to achieve such a task.

Thanks in advance,

~Matt

I'm trying to get a copy of the ROM file but so far unsuccessful.. I cannot find out where InsydeFlash puts the new ROM file when you go to update the bios..
