I just added an MGAdiag screenshot to OP. Looks like the version is older than the SP1 Release. Check the version numbers.

It appears to have no reduced functionality. However, having said that, I just did windows update, and there were no .net framework versions listed, so either it has it already, or it will need to be downloaded manually.

As it's a VM, I can't really test gaming properly.

Media player and IE8 all load up perfectly, adobe flash seems to install correctly, and youtube videos all play correctly.

I think this version is aimed at places that have public computers. So they probably are going to include all the features that make it look pretty to show it off to everyone that uses it.

Maybe i can convince someone i know with a crap laptop to give this a go.

I can only install this as a VM also.

I'm interested to see performance comparisons. To me it just looks like Windows 7 minus a bunch of programs, which isn't going to affect performance, just disk usage (which is still very high for almost zero pre-installed software).

Something else that is interesting... the pagefile is disabled by default. Very unusual.
It also has the option to enable bit locker drive encryption.

Oooh, does anyone remember that trusted pc thing that intel and MS were on about a year or so ago? This has it by the looks of it. see screenie.

Is there a hardware support list for this version? IE Ram, etc~

I wouldn't mind swapping out enterprise edition to free up some SSD space.

Edit: is it 32 bit? It is.
