I'll say now, this is by no means founded backed up info and is based on what I have heard but...

While it is a die shrink and will use the same socket, I'm not certain it will use the same chipset, so a flat upgrade on current 1155 boards may not be possible from what I have heard.

I must admit that it isn't a subject I have kept up to date on but you might want to check that out when Ivy is released just in case.
I will check all of that out when the time comes. If I have to upgrade my mobo as well, then I will probably just stick with SB until I really get the itch for something else post Ivy (I read the names, just can't remember them, they have well at the end of them). Like I said, it depends... I'm pretty happy with what I have now, so if upgrading really doesn't make sense, I'll be ok with that.

I set Phase to Extreme and LLC to high, if you are using offset voltage I think it's best to leave LLC at regular.. I only got my CPU yesterday though so I'm still learning too but pretty much everything I've read has suggested extreme and high

There isn't an intel defined safe maximum for the Core i7 2x00k chips, but I am personally betting it is 1.55v.

Realistically, I would personally say you are fine with the temps and voltages you are seeing. Even then, you will never see temperatures close to stress testing conditions unless you are folding or doing something that really will utilize the CPU at 100% sustained.

Don't sweat the temps. I really think you seem to have a solid chip and the fact that it ran stable is all the more reason to keep it at 5.0ghz.
Food for thought... I might play around with it some more over the weekend. I'd like to run prime for a lot longer than an hour to see what happens. I ran it for an hour of prime @5.0 and everything was fine stability wise. I guess I am just afraid that the longer I let it run, the more its going to heat up. I'm not going to sit there and watch it for 12 hours. I am feeling pretty good about the chip. I've read a lot of threads here and it seems I am getting high OCs with a lower than average Vcore. Maybe, maybe not, but that's the feeling I get from reading through stuff here on OCN.

Sweet. I just started my first OC last night....errr...early am

I am using the same. But I beleive I am using the offset for my Vcore. I may be wrong.

I have my 2500K at 4.6 @ 1.32v for an hour now. No dumb Worker 3 fails yet.

I have never noticed those settings on my motherboard. Are they Asus exclusive?
Here is one of my runs for 5ghz+ I found that the temps reached 80C! not safe in my book. http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1741775

I think LLC is standard across most motherboards, but phase delay might be an asus-exclusive. Other manufactures probably have it, they just call it something else.
