I really wish this project had been finished. Nonetheless the amount of effort and the overall quality is inspiring. I hope one day he picks it up again and completes this awesome project.

I'm working on water cooling my NES-PC right now. I've got all the parts and have determined where they will be mounted and will mount them this weekend. You're project is inspiring and I hope you come back to it! (Btw mine is in an unmodified case and has proven quite challenging as well).

I recomend emuparadise.org you have a nice selection of emulators and roms
*disclaimer*
Downloading the ROMs is a grey area so I usually just download what I have the cartridge for. That said, its up to you.
