Hmm I always thought that the difference between 1920x1080 won't be that big compared to my 1440x900. And that it was just performance consuming xD
post #22 of 42
I really think everyone should be at 1080p by now considering how cheap monitors are these days

It's less than a million pixels difference, but it is still a rather substantial difference between the two resolutions. Beyond 1080p, the resolutions just become exponentially larger, which will necessitate further horsepower.

It's like what everyone else has been saying, if you're going to buy a Ferrari or a Lambo, you're going to need the room to realize its true potential. Those cars were not meant to be restricted with speed limits, and neither was the GTX 580.

I would of just gotten a higher res monitor and either gotten another 460.. or gotten a 560 and sold the 460 and gotten an ssd with the money from the 460...
I know that post didn't make any sense.. but you get my drift..
Honestly bad buy unless you plan on getting a 1080 screen like the next pay period!!
v1ral
*Enjoy the card.. put everything on max.. AA and everything..

A Dell U2311H is a good place to start for good pricing and quality - especially when they go on sale with coupons for $250 or less. If you're not interested in IPS panels, or don't care/notice about viewing angles and color accuracy, then Asus makes fine TN panels that won't break the bank. I have seen them on sale from anywhere around $150-$180 on Newegg.

So it depends how on much you want to spend and what you are looking for.
