I'd take my Biostar over an Intel board.

Right ntel low ends are simply bad and useless.... I dont have an idea of the high end ones...

My GPU started grtting laggy in games and then my display froze. I updated my BIOS officially from intel's site (the latest) and since then it's be very unstable, and is most likely the cause of the issue based on the issues with my board. I installed the latest BIOS update here through the .EXE file: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...17136&lang=eng

Then It rebooted, and everything seemed fine, until the fans went to max speed and the screen is 100% black. I've been researching this common issue, and majority are RMA'ing their boards because it is a faulty method....

I tried using intel's bios recovery method to fix this about four times by resetting the CMOS with the bios jumper and using a flash drive to get it to boot, and it worked for awhile until I rebooted..

But when it does boot up it takes about 15 minutes, and it's very laggy in windows. So basically, my computer is worthless at the moment. I think I'm just going to save up for an R3F now.
The dx58so was the oringal refrence x58 board, i also have it. Its been good and stable for me, but i never OC it. There were issues where you could fry the board if you had a gulftown chip and used the auto tune option, and since ive had my 6 core chip, ssdn and 12 GB ram, it also sits at max fan for atleast 5-10 seconds befrore it posts, thats after the fixes from the bios updates.

I think the board has some issues with gulftown chips Also keep in mind when this board was designed, there were no 6 core chips.
Intel already has a new dx58s02, the oringal was a refrence design that simply is not as good as other boards aviable today 2+ years later.

But besides that, its been rock stable for me. (luck of the draw) But Considering this forum is Overclock.net, it wasnt really meant for users like us.

You should buy a new board, then send the board for RMA,

BTW......I've got my ASUS RIIIF....being shipped to me today

Mine has been so solid. It has been on since purchase.
Three years and counting. They make good boards. My last one(Intel D945PVS)was sold after five years, and still in use today.

This one also clocked nice, maybe I am just lucky.
