Complete h20 NOOB

Thread Starter
Ive been posting on the H20 forum a lot lately. Trying to get some advice on first time H20 set up.

Im thinking of this - https://www.jab-tech.com/XSPC-Rasa-7...t-pr-4780.html

and this

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/12...ngs.html#blank

My questions are (sorry for being so noob)

1.) Is this everything i'll need? Any extra tubing required? Any extra barbs? etc.
2.) Is this portable? I planed on mounts the rad to the side of my case, which I know will look funky, but its a small case.
3.) Better deal for the price?
4.) Beat my Noctua?
5.) Will it fit bulldozer?

also what should I use as additives?

thanks and +1 to good responses for sure.

I don't see why you didn't ask this in the RASA kit thread.

But.
1. Yes, it comes with everything. All you need is a kill coil or PT Nuke.
2. Is what portable?
3. No. Check the RASA kit thread's FAQ.
4. It will be a bit better than your Noctua.
5. Yes, from what I know. Bulldozer will use AM3+. There is a bracket in the kit for AMD CPU's.

1.) You may need more tubing depending on how long your loop will be.
You can also buy colored tubing if you so choose. You will also need 2 barbs for the gfx card.

2.) Define portable. Yes you can move it around the house on wheels if you want to physically move it in a car I would be very careful. If by plane proper packing and a loop drain are required to prevent breaking.

3.) Yes that kit is your best bang for the buck combo out there.

4.) It will beat your air cooling fan by much is hard to say because it depends on ambient temps and a few other things. I have never seen a wc loop lose to an aircooler unless the wc loop was installed in correctly.

5.) Not an AMD cpu guy but I assume they will come out with an adapter.

1) You might need more tubing. It depends how long your loop is. You will need two barbs for the GPU block.

2) I would be extremely careful if you plan on moving it in a car... Moving in your home is ok.

3) The XSPC Rasa is the best Price/Performance kit there is.

4) It will beat your air cooler. Don't know by how much as it depends on other things.

5) They will probably come out with something... Maybe the mounting holes are going to be the same?

Hmm. Ok sounds good. Can someone post me a link to barbs they would recommend?
Also I am considering the Swiftech EDGE-220 kit, even though it costs a bit more. Is this kit much better than the XSPC Rasa?

By portable, i mean moving it about 3 miles from my dorm to my parents summer house (which I do every other 3 weeks) by car.

Of the fittings on this page:

https://www.jab-tech.com/Metal-Barb-...1-2-c-330.html

These are probably the best bet (there are others to, but mind the threading G1/4 and the OD:

https://www.jab-tech.com/XSPC-G1-4-B...g-pr-4137.html

EDGE costs a good bit more, however for a GPU in the loop you'll find yourself wanting a 2nd radiator in the loop with the EDGE-220 and maybe even the 320. I wouldn't classify EDGE as "better" so much as marginally easier. EDGE is easier to mount the waterblock and is easy bleed air out of and has good documentation, it also takes up a great deal less space. Rasa's block takes a bit or research and thinking to figure out how to mount (The block does not come with a backplate, so you just use screws), and bleeds like most any water setups. Whether all that is worth the fair deal of extra coin to you depends on your tolerance for spending money versus a bit of convenience.
