Hm, too bad. It would have been nice if the red ESC key (or any other extra) was thrown in, would've made the excitement of my first mech that much more exciting!

I just got mine today too! It's my first mech board as well. Feels so awesome. One question, is there a special way to remove keycaps if I want to clean them or can I just pry them open with a pencil?

Also, is it bad to fully press down a key?

Congrats on your first board and to remove the keycaps just use a keycap puller from EK or anywhere else you can find one (since EK is out of stock at the moment).

I don't think it's bad to bottom out on a key but I don't know, it might wear the key (or the switch) out faster. Also I don't think it's a good habit especially if you're a touch typist.

$99 plus shipping (with tax if you're in California) from EK.

Has anyone who pre-ordered on March 11th or later gotten a shipping notice yet?

Well, since this is your first post.. welcome to OCN!

And to find out your order status, it's better to send an email to support@elitekeyboards.com and ask Brian about it. Good luck and I'm sure you'll receive that shipping confirmation soon.

Thank you

Discovered this site a couple weeks ago and got some great information about mechanical keyboards. The wait is killing me so I registered to ask if anyone else is in the same shoes as I am haha.

You're welcome. And yeah, I know the feeling.. when I'm waiting for stuff I order online and especially if this is your first mech keyboard.

Yup, it isn't for everyone. Some may like it and some won't but here is nothing compare to the folks over at Geekhack.org or Deskthority.net. Go check out those 2 links if you have some free time and you'll see how passionate they are about keyboards.

I received the Otaku version by accident, EK is sending me the correct printed version which should be here tomorrow.

Being my first mech keyboard, I couldn't help but keep grinning at the high quality build and feel of the keyboard. The brown switches, while pretty much on par to what I imagined, were a bit stiffer than I thought they would be.

Color me impressed. You pay for quality. This is easily one of the most noticeable upgrades a computing geek like me can make.
