Few questions..

Thread Starter
I noticed in AMD OverDrive has CPU Extra-Ov and VDDNB Extra OV.

What are these? Are they important? Im going to be OC'ing my cpu, NB, etc tomorrow and wanna educate myself beforehand. What might these be in the BIOS?

I remember reading that theres a voltage that is dedicated when using multiplier overclocks. Since I have an X3 720 BE, should I stick to the multiplier and would I just use the cpu-nb VID?

Lastly, off topic to the above.. If my system is unstable while doing stability checks and I get BSODs, will this mess up anything with windows?
Ive already found 3 guides to read through tomorrow

vdd nb is your north bridge voltage. Should be nb core or vddnb. I have never used a asus board so idk. cpu extra might be vcore. That should be cpuvdd or cpu vcore

Something interesting that happened. I reverted my cpu to x3 to make sure my RAM is stable at 1600 with 1.52v and 9-9-9-24 1T timings.
As Im in the BIOS, i dont have the cpu multiplier. but instead just cpu/nb ratio. I saw this while I was in the BIOS to turn the 4th core off. Anyone know if the BIOS disables the multiplier when you unlock? I know i have a BE

The good news of going back to x3 is I can see my real WC'ing temps.. in fact theyre at 23C right now whil running 32M super pi test

Edit/update: Im dumb.. when I updated the BIOS a while back, i think it just changed the name to cpu ratio instead of cpu multiplier.

Something I was thinking about.. staying with x3 and possibly being able to OC the cpu higher than with x4 and being able to monitor real cpu temps.

Would there be a big difference having a higher OC with x3 versus lower in x4? What would you guys suggest or if getting a highter OC in x3 is possible

Update: The ram passed Super pi 32M just fine both on stock voltages and timing in both x3 and x4. But when I go to play a game- I played Splinter Cell conviction for the first time and it rebooted twice. Put it to 1333 and not another reboot.
