Apogee XT base plate

Thread Starter
Hi guys,

So I am cleaning out my loop and re-doing it with distilled water because the gunk from the blue dye is all over all my parts! I just spent 3 days cleaning everything...t

My apogee XT base plate is giving me headaches. I can't get the gunk out from the inside. I've tried everything, including marinating it in vinegar, etc...

Also, the bottom of the water block now has all sorts of funky colors on it, and I think that may be due to too much vinegar exposure.... can I get rid of that or am I doomed?

Do they sell just the replacement base plate for the Apogee XT or do I have to buy a new one? And is there anything out there better than the Apogee XT right now? COmpression fitting friendly?

THanks!

Vinegar won't leave discoloration directly, but if you let the vinegar with dissolved dye dry on the plate it might've discolored. I suggest taking some vinegar and a toothbrush to the plate with the block disassembled.

As for replacements, the EK Supreme is compression-friendly and a few C better.
