For those discussing VRM/Phases, you really don't need more than a quality 4+2, or an 8. At least if you aren't doing massive overclocking on liquid nitrogen.

So buying a board based on phases and not doing L2N is kind of pointless. You could OC a Xeon X3440 to 4.1ghz on a Gigabyte P55M-UD2 with a 4+2 phase with no heatsinks and be just fine.

This is newer technology on a 32nm process, takes a lot less power, and most of the mosfets/vrms/phases or whatever are higher quality than their predecessors. There's been people OCing nearly 5ghz on the P8P67-M Pro and that has only 5 phases... not sure if it's a 3+2 or 4+1. But regardless, not many phases and it OCs just fine.

Personally I love the Sabertooth design (I've owned 3 of the P55 model), and wouldn't hesitate buying it for Sandy Bridge either.

second choice- asus p67 sabertooth
third choice- asus p8p67 evo,
I havent suggested asus p8p67 ws revolution because it has no pci slots (some people needs pci slots for their existing sound card)
