better than i5 2500k stock cpu fan?

My i5 stock fan is running loud and the temps are btw 42-55c for the cpu. I went ahead and bought this thing yesterday but I'm wondering how good it is before opening it? Anyone used this kind of fan before?

Looks like the hyper 212 with the same setup. It'll definitely be way better than the stock intel heatsink by miles and for 30, it's worth it. There are better products you can get; but they do cost a bit more. You can pick the hyper 212 yourself for the same or lesser price but it probably doesnt matter as it looks similar.

True, I guess i will try this out anything has to be better than a loud stock fan. The only thing I have read about this one is the fact that it has pushpins (same as stock :/) and the instructions are pointless as how to install it.

Pushpins: deal killer for me. I had so much hassle with a ninja scythe pushpins dealing on a gigabyte 965p. You'll definitely like the screws on the hyper if you did go that route

Yea, I'm going to pick one up soon but my only problem is if I get one I'm going to have to order it, so I guess ill just use this one for now.

I have it and currently use it on my sig rig although amd it does a decent job but its not anything to write home about... 10+ c drop depending on air temp.. I only have one fan hooked up currently and will have 2 by the end of the week... I bought it because i had rewards points or whatnot...
