Why does my xbox look SO much better than my pc? - Page 6

Either it's a terrible monitor or you have bad vision.

I have a PS3 hooked up to a 60" LCD in the living room. I never game with it cause the PS3 looks terrible compared to my computer.

If I run my monitor on a non native resolution, things start to look weird. So that it why it is looking bad for you.

A nice 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 will change you mind. If you see no difference, you are doing something wrong.

yes, We have established that I have been running at non-native resolution

ok I think I've had Enuff answers thanks guys, My s*** is running well now, I have discovered my native resolution and tweaked my nvidia settings, things look much better now. If anyone cares I'll post some before and after screen shots.

I love this, as very interesting and hot topic!

Yes admittedly, I sometimes thought some games runs XB360 are better than PC. I really dont care PC's specs, but always look at PC's graphic is very clearly and awesome visual than xbox360, IMO..

OK the amount rubbish talked about the 360 on this thread is hilarious.

The FPS of a game on the 360 is decided by the Creater of the game its not locked in by the 360's hardware this also applys to the native Resolutions of the games so some are below 720p some are bang on and others are full 1080p (Mainly Arcade game bought of Xbox live) this also applys to the PS3

To say that HD can eat your A** H*** us just down right stupid Gaming in Standarded Definitation on a PC or a 360 is just a waste of your hardware.

Your PC will kill a 360 in Graphics performance put everything full whack straight away there are sharper lines better shadow and higher res textures also much faster loading.

Are you sure you're setting graphics options correctly? You can't jsut put in a game and play. You need to max it out 1st. AF should always be x16(one of the bigger graphical improvements w/ the least perf. hit) and MSAA should be 4x usually. There are other AA methods and higher and lower levels, but that's the jist of it. make sure texture and shader settings in-game are on their highest. Also, make sure you're running at you monitor's native resolution. running below native res, especially on an LCD will absolutely butcher graphical quality.

See thats what I'm talking about, the lines on my 360 just look way better. On my pc I get these lines that are all jagged and digitized and just look like crap, but on my 360 every edge has a smooth transition with the objects or background around it.

Is there anyway to solve this on my pc?
If I got a second gtx460 would this solve the problem?
or would I bottleneck somewhere?

yup, got a the native res at 1440x900, always max textures and shaders first, AF at x16 and AA Iusually worry about last.

'HD' is just a definition of a resolution and doesn't help one bit in image quality, as long as you're running native resolution. There's just a bit more on screen at the same time at a higher resolution.

Actually, for most games the 360 actually downscales the resolution to 1280x720.

If it's the jaggies that bother you, just run 4xAA, and they'll be gone for the most part (It depends more on the pixel density of your screen after that).

Yes the more AA you put on the smoother lines and edges will be but also the higher the resolution will increase the look of lines and edges so you dont require as much AA if you are running say 1080p because of the number of pixels on screen the more pixels making up the line the smoother and more real it will look.

Running Standard def on your Xbox like 480p on and old crt will just look basic and the lines and edges will look more smudged than actually being sharp and realistic.

ok Mirror, If the console games looks so much better than the PC games explain this thread.. http://www.overclock.net/video-game-...x3-editor.html

and this thread.. http://www.overclock.net/video-game-...ed-crysis.html

and this thread.. http://www.overclock.net/pc-games/95...rysis-2-a.html

and answer these question: Why are the graphics of Crysis 2 being lowered so that it can be ported to your 360??.. is it because the beloved 360 cant handle the higher graphics settings and cant possibly output anything over 720p?

why are so many PC gamers complaining about the lame graphics of Cyrsis 2 vs Crysis 1. Answer these questions and ill go buy 3 xbox 360s
