Overclocking through Overdrive is safe. Using other tools is only for experts.

http://www.overclock.net/ati/633816-...r-ati-gpu.html

This helped me get my 5770 to 1000/1375/1.2v in less then 2 hours.

I have the same card (I left a review for it on page 3 or 4 if you see 100 reviews per page)

It overclocks EASILY in MSI AFterburner. Just SLIDE the core/memory where you want it

At stock volts I can hit 942 core and 1375 memory (see sig)

I'm willing to experiment.

I'm getting a decent result atm I think. I'm at 950/1375/stock voltage under 70C no artifacting/driver crashing

Edit: GPU-Z says I'm at 1.000V, Afterburner says 1200 mV, which is right?
-- I think I figured it out. It limits at 1.2V but it only uses as much as it needs to

Edit2: I can't push above 960mhz core, even with Unofficial Overclocking set to 1 in MSI Afterburner. Oh well, I'll keep pushing the memory.

Edit3: 960/1445/stock voltage/under 70C/Fans never exceed ~45%. Did I get a good card or something?

What´s wrong with MSI´s custom fan profiler with curve and points ?

My old xfx 5770 did 1000 on the core pretty stock. Can´t remember the ram speed thou

I just seem to like Trixx more than AB. Maybe because AB was not able to unlock voltage in my card.

The problem is that my card has the APW7088 voltage controller which is not supported by pretty much any software yet.
