2x 1TB Samsung v 3x 500gb Samsung

Hey guys

I've just bought a mass amount of parts over the internet and I was going to buy my CPU and HDD at a local computer shop. I just visited the website though and they don't have the 2x 1TB Samsung F3 that I was going to buy for $67 each. So my question is: Will 3x 500GB Samsung F3 HDD's, with one short stroked and the other 2 on RAID0, perform on par if not better than 2x 1TB in RAID0 and short stroked?

Thank for your feedback

why not raid all 3 together and shortstroke that?? best thing is to just get a good SSD for the boot drive and not worry with raid.

If I raid all 3 I will lose a lot of space, and I need space becuase I have a huge amount of TV shows and I do a lot of fraps. An SSD was really not on the cards because its something like $150 for 60gb over here, and that's the price I can get 1.5TB to 2GB for...plus I'm spending 2k on my rig and I'm only 16

well i have tried just about every combination of hard drives in raid and SS'd but nothing can touch the speed of the SSD. i know its alot and you think its not worth it but it really is. if i was building a new computer and my options were 150 for SSD or 150 for video.... i would run the built in video and get the SSD. its just that important once you have used one.
