upgrading your cpu will give you only few fps increase if that much
you would see most increase in crysis and crysis warhead when you turn up physics, metro 2033, battlefield bad company2 (but that will still be only 1-2 more frames per second)
and in strategy games with lots of units like total war series or starcraft2 (here you might see increase in minimum fps when in large battles)

but still you have 5770 and that is your "bottleneck" whe you want to turn up details or getting higher fps with same details
Well sir, If you have not noticed, the quad core era is really setting off. Mobile devices should be the only one with dual cores right now.

That's just me anyway.

I have tested few of graphic cards with few processors and honestly i think the cheapest athlon dual core something like 250 is perfectly fine with 5770, that is if you can deal with not maxing out crysis or metro2033...

I would wait for Bulldozer personally. I love my 955BE but at this point in time I would not upgrade to it.

In similar boat. Thinking about ditching my X3 450 for $60 for 955 at $140. Any opinions?

i ordered a 955 hsould be here on thurs, upgrading from my 9950 at 3.0 ghz, i know guys are saying wait for bulldozer, but why? bulldozer is supposed to be like 700$, ontop of that, its not going to be cheaper then 300$ thats for sure, so the only thing i could possibly think of, is waiting for bulldozer so the 955 becomes cheaper, but even then the cpu wont drop much, IF even 20$, so dont wait, just go for it,

Even if you decide down the track not to go bulldozer with an AM3+ board etc it will certainly bring down the prices of the current AMD processors. Either way its a win to wait.

the $700 figure are quoting is for baseline entire system price...according to a widely circulated chart from AMD the 8 core Bulldozer should wind up at about the same price as an i7 2600k

Having said all that, 955's are dirt cheap so no real reason to gimp yourself in the meantime. You aren't going to lose a ton of money if you are only swapping processors

TY. I'm going to go pick up 955BE for 125$ today with MUGEN 2 Cooler. I'm hoping this will last me till next year summer when SB/IB/Bulldozer prices are lower.
