I think kansas city was a good location, its centralized right in the middle of the states. Maybe be a good spot for a hub for game servers, etc. Equal pings across america. I dont know how to word things properly , does anyone understand what im saying?

Just curious but does anybody know what Google's plans are and are they really going to open up an ISP branch? I keep reading about these tests but does anybody know if they're going to actually become a nation wide ISP? I googled it but everything I read was speculation.

KCK != KC, MO

Some info of KCK in Wyandotte (aka: Dot) county

Side note: The GM Plant now makes the Buick LaCrosse instead of Saturns and still makes the Chevy Malibu.

Right next to this county is one of the wealthiest counties in the country: Johnson County, KS - aka: The OC of the Midwest.

My favorite BBQ is Smokehouse in Gladstone (aka Happy Rock).

Actually its Kansas City, Missouri. Not Kansas. Im assuming because thats the larger Kansas City. I know its off topic kinda but at least its not going to Kansas, its going to Missouri which has to relatively large cities in St Louis and Kansas City instead of Kansas which is just a bunch of open space.

EDIT: So its Kansas City, Kansas huh? A city of 145K? I thought it was at least the place where the Chiefs and Royals play! Mkay let me get on board with this.

WHAT!!!!???

Six of the richest counties lie on the outskirts of Washington: Fairfax County, Va., Arlington County, Va., Stafford County, Va., Prince William County, Va., Charles County, Md., and Alexandria City, Va.
Should've been in northern Virginia, as we are becoming a hub for fortune 500 companies and are undergoing massive growths. Oh well, stupid county officials here.

Or my hometown of Houston, H-town. Home to the second most fortune 500 cities in USA only behind NYC.

At a local event held soon after the announcement, Google said it picked Kansas City in part because its existing infrastructure would allow it to get its fiber project up and running fairly quickly.

Internet Backbones going through KC and suburbs: ATMnet, CRL, CWIX, DIGEX, internetMCI (Independence, MO), MCI Worldcom (UUNET), PsiNet, Savvis, Sprint. So 9 out of 25 backbones go through the KC area.

On an interview, I took a tour of the Sprint CCC about 15 years ago, and it was impressive then. I just didn't want to be an operator.
